Item Drive
September 7th, 2024
Shelters throughout BC are often underfunded and overwhelmed. This leads to insufficient resources to help the growing number of vulnerable women and children in British Columbia.

CWI will be hosting our annual item. Our goal is to collect necessary items, used cell phones, and monetary donations for women’s shelters throughout BC.

Menstrual Product Drive

Tote Bag & Holiday Card Fundraiser
Winter 2022
This holiday season, CWI is selling beautiful tote bags and wonderful holiday cards - all in support of our women's shelters. Our bags are 100% cotton and feature unique designs from our own UBC medical student, Lauren Yearwood. Each bag costs $16.
A pack of 5 cards costs $15 each, or you can get a 10 card-pack for $25. All items are available for free pickup at UBC, UVic, or UNBC.

All proceeds from our sales will be distributed to women’s shelters and transition homes across the Lower Mainland.

Cell Phone Drive
Spring 2021
For many people, a cell phone provides a means of connection with other individuals and fosters autonomy. For survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV), a new cell phone, and a new number, can provide not only safety, but access to independent life.

Check out our BC Project Connect event page for more details about the drive.
Tote Bag Fundraiser
Spring 2021
Currently, women’s shelters in Canada are overwhelmed and underfunded. To help women and children who are struggling within the Greater Vancouver region, CWI Vancouver sold tote bags to raise money for women and bring awareness to the challenges they experience.
UPDATE: We've sold out, thank you to everyone who purchased a tote! All proceeds have been distributed to women’s shelters and transition homes across the lower mainland.
CWIC 2021 Conference
March 6, 2021

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and a special thank you to all the speakers who took the time to share their knowledge and experiences.

Item Drive Event
July 10, 2020
This event was run through the Covid-19 Women's Initiative - BC Branch and was in partnership with the City of Surrey and Platinum Pro-Claim Restoration.
Thanks to the many people who attended the event and community sponsors, we raised over 12,500 in items and $7500 in donations.
The donations were then distributed to the anti-violence organizations and shelters in the Lower Mainland we have partnered with.

The T-shirt was designed by one of our very own:

In this event we managed to sell over 70 T-shirts which contributed over $1600 to our fundraising efforts.
