The Community Women’s Initiative (CWI) is proud to support the "Toolkit for Picky Eaters" project, an advocacy initiative led by UBC medical students in collaboration with the Reading Bear Society. This project, recently awarded the Dr. Barry Adams Pediatric Resident Advocacy Education Grant, is designed to empower mothers and families facing economic and nutritional challenges.

Initiative Details 

The Toolkit for Picky Eaters offers practical, cost-effective solutions to address the common challenges of picky eating, especially in families navigating food insecurity. It includes:
-    Simple, nutrient-dense recipes and weekly grocery plans with a budget cap of $50.
-    Evidence-based strategies to manage picky eating in children.
-    A guide to local food banks and nutritional resources.
-    Tools for managing mealtime stress and fostering positive eating habits.

CWI’s role includes:
-    Hosting hands-on workshops to teach meal preparation skills.
